Canberra’s Handmade Market is on again, and set to transform the Albert Hall into a bustling, artistic wonderland on Saturday 7th February.

The quarterly Up-market brings together talented artists, designers, craftspeople and gourmets. This unique event aims to connect the makers of beautiful things to people who appreciate the quality, handcrafted and locally designed.

With a bevy of Canberra’s most crafty creatives on the bill, you’re invited to try, buy, or just wander the stalls filled with handmade delights and speak to the local craftsmen/women.

Lisa Barrett, local fashionista and creative force behind local label Tango & James nest, is excited about preparing for the upcoming market. Lisa plans to unveil her latest creations with a new line of homewears, set to dazzle in sugar plum shades.

“Get ready for Tango & James nest, homewares with sassy style, like you’ve never seen before,” Lisa said.

“I’ll have cushions, table lamps and my new ‘flock’ and ‘flutter’ mobiles. The look is strong on colour, texture and pattern – the Tango & James look, ready to add zest and style to your already fabulous nest.”

Debuting in Canberra last November, Handmade Market has already formed a cult following amongst curious Canberra shoppers, craving something unique in an increasingly mass produced world.

“The response from customers was encouraging. They were all pleased to meet Canberra’s best style makers in one place. What a fabulous showcase for all that hard work put in!”

The Handmade Market also gives back to the community by raising much needed funds to support Motor Neurone Disease. Through raffles, donations and the sale of special products, the market has already raised $2705.

There is not ATM at the hall, so make sure your wallet is replenished prior to arrival.
