Presented by triple j, UNFD, New World Artists and Macro Music, the boys are playing their way across the country in some of their favourite venues, Dead Letter Circus will be showcasing tracks from ‘Aesthesis’ as well as fan favourites from their 100,000+ selling catalogue spanning the last decade.

Since DLC are stopping in Canberra as part of their national album tour this week, we caught up with them for a bit of chit chat beforehand…

Tell us about the tour! What can the Canberra audience expect from DLC?
So far “tour de aesthesis” has been going down quite the treat and if previous shows are anything to go by canberra are in for an epic night of rock n roll antics i.e.. loud music, sweat, sing alongs and an all round jolly time. Oh, and there may be a drum solo.

What’s a typical day in the life on the road for Dead Letter Circus?
Things are pretty regimented when we’re on the road and it quickly turns into groundhog day. Coffee, Breakfast, drive/fly to the next show, check into a hotel, head to the venue, find some food, soundcheck, eat some more food, watch a few songs of the support acts and get a vibe, rock a show, have a yarn with fans, get back to the hotel, sleep and repeat.

Where’s your favourite place to eat when touring in Canberra?
There is a cool little cafe that we always end up at every morning after playing Canberra but I can’t remember the name of it for the life of me.

Where’s your favourite place to party when doing live gigs in Canberra?
We generally hang around the venue we just played and have a couple of beverages and chat with fans if anything. I think I’ve only ever been out once in canberra and it was some weird R&B club and it turned into a dance off to justin timberlake and micheal jackson. Goodtimes.

See the boys this week at UC Live!
