The popularity of Floriade just can’t be contained within the daytime anymore! This year for five nights only the stage is set for Floriade NightFest, a night time spectacular.
Floriade NightFest will feature floodlit flowerbeds, bustling night markets, local gourmet food, free regional wine tastings, and swinging live music. There’s outdoor film screenings, fun roving entertainers and a stylish NightFest Glow Bar under the stars.
Set against a stunning landscape of glowing lanterns, twinkling fairy lights and flower beds in Commonwealth Park, Floriade NightFest will breathe new life into one of Canberra’s best known and much loved events.
A program of specially selected short films and one feature film will screen on a huge outdoor cinema screen, bigger than Canberra has ever seen before:

Each night presents a live music act from funk to big band so there will be something for everyone in these great performances.
The live entertainment kicks off on Wednesday with The Aron Lyon Trio. This leading jazz group will get the NightFest party started with a wide range of music from traditional swing, to contemporary jazz, as well as Latin, reggae, funk and rhythm and blues.
On Saturday night you will be entertained by Blamey St Big Band. This 20 piece ensemble plays wonderful music in the tradition of the big, swing bands, including songs by Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Glenn Miller.
While wandering through Floriade NightFest, don’t forget to check out the Glow Bar, where you can chill out with a drink or two under the stars – the perfect way celebrate spring!
