Spring is upon us, and while you got in early and secured your tickets to the hottest gigs over the festival season, you may be yet to spare a thought for your perfect festival outfit. We chatted to Lex Holden from Parliament Clothing about what you should be wearing this season…

Floral Dresses & Maxi Skirts
Floral dresses and maxi skirts are on trend this season, and are sure to feature heavily at festivals. Light and drapey, they’re the perfect piece to get you through long, hot days in the sun and there’s a cut that’s flattering for any body shape. And of course, they’re the garment of choice when it comes to using portaloos. Team them up with some new season boots or leather sandals.

High-Waisted Shorts
If you aren’t much of a dress person, get yourself into some high-waisted shorts. This is a trend that has been lingering for the past few years, so you shouldn’t have to go further than your own wardrobe. On top of the classic denim, this season sees patterned, linen and tribal varieties.

Crop Tops
Channel your inner ’90s grunge and team up your high-waisted shorts or maxi skirt with a crop top. They’re the perfect way to show off a bit of skin.

Giant Hats
Long, warm days spent traipsing around fields in the sun may be a great way to spend a day out, but it plays havoc on your skin. Luckily, this season’s number one festival accessory is a floppy hat. The mantra of hats this season is bigger is better, so use your hat as the focal point and pair with a simple outfit.

Leopard Print
Spring 2011 is all about leopard print, and the festival field is the perfect place to experiment. And don’t be afraid to clash prints.

For the guys…
This season, men should be wearing beach shorts, chinos and chino shorts in a range of colours. Match your shorts with an oversized singlet. For footwear, choose – boat shoes and lace up canvas shoes. And don’t forget your sunnies.
