For those who don’t know super-chic DJ, Havana Brown is coming back to Australia to perform at the Australia Celebrates Live concert in Canberra! We are looking forward to hearing some of the great tunes from her just released first album Flashing Lights.

Since Havana rose to fame in 2008/2009, making a name for herself after touring and supporting A-list acts such as Rihanna, Pussy Cat Dolls and Britney Spears. She has also become known for her sense of style and isn’t afraid to push the boundaries – especially when she is behind the DJ decks at some of the hottest nightclubs in the world.

Havana is a Melbourne girl living in LA (in a loft she’s decorated in all gold and black). She’s a pretty big deal in the US now, having sold over 2.5 million singles from her EP – which makes her the first Australian female artist to sell a million copies of a single in the US since Olivia Newton-John. Now that’s cool!

Some might say Havana Brown (real name Angelique Meunier) has it all with a booming global career as a DJ and singer, and a wardrobe to-die-for, have no doubt she busted her butt to get there!

It all started in 2006 when she lived in London and joined a ‘group’ described as a fusion of dance, reggae and R’n’B (before dance/pop). They signed a record deal and then broke up right after their first single – enough to shatter anyone’s. In hindsight it worked in her favour, giving her time to realise her true calling, DJing.

Once Havana decided to become a DJ she did her thing – and still does, even though she did cop of bit of negativity at the start about whether she could do it. We think having several mega-hit singles – We Run the Night and Big Banana (both hit the top spot on the Billboard Dance Club Charts) – and Flashing Lights killing it on the album chart, proves Havana has achieved beyond her wildest expectations!

She’s 28, has a killer work ethic and tons of talent. The industry’s best producers are in Havana’s corner… and so are we!

Catch Havana Brown at the FREE Australia Celebrates Live concert from 5:00pm on Saturday 25th of January 2014.
