Coming up this week for Taste It

by OutInCanberra 24 October 2012

Over the next week, Taste It Festival presents TeppanSake at Shogun Japanese Restaurant, Teapot Tasting at Mercury Bar and the Boutique Beer and Banquet at Trev’s @ Dickson.

TeppanSake at Shogun is being held on Thursday 25th October at 6.30pm. Enjoy a complete six-course Japanese eating experience with teppanyaki matched with sake.

Déjà Vu is supplying the sake on the night and Déjà Vu representative, Yukino Ochiai, will be there to talk you through each sake and answer any questions you have. Yukino is originally from Aichi prefecture in Japan and has been living in Sydney since 1989. Yukino feels very passionate about having a selection of the finest sake from Japan in Australia.

Expect to enjoy sakes such as Amanoto, Dewazakura, Houraisen, Tengumai and Yoshinogawa.
Everyone that purchases a ticket for this event also goes into the draw to win a 1.8 litre bottle of sake.

The cost is $75.90 per person. Click Here to buy tickets.

Grab a friend or a big group and head along to Mercury Bar on Friday 26th October from 8pm to midnight to celebrate Taste It with their Teapot Tasting!

Choose any combination of three teapots for you and a friend to share. You can choose from Green Melon, Blue Citrus, Red Strawberry, Orange Orange and two new teapot flavours – Pink Peach and Orange Bull.

The two new teapot flavours were chosen by Canberra university students which was run by Red Bull. The Teapots are Mercury Bar’s signature drinks and for Taste It, they are offering you a discounted price for three teapots for you a friend to share for $25.

On Wednesday 31st October, celebrate Taste It Festival on hump day at Trevs @ Dickson with their six-course Boutique Beer and Banquet.

The footy season is over, so find an excuse to get your mates together after work and have a boys night (or a girls night!).

The six-course shared banquet style dinner with a beer tasting menu to match is absolutely mouth-watering. Enjoy tasty dishes such as the lamb kibbeh with mint yoghurt and pomegranate molasses and the Dragon Hunter pizza with chorizo, smoked paprika, red peppers and jalapenos.

The beers on the night are from McLaren Vale Beer Company, Mountain Goat Brewery and Swell Brewery. Vale Ale has been voted Australia’s number one beer by the Hottest 100 Craft Beers of 2010.

The Boutique Beer and Banquet at Trevs @ Dickson is a generous feast of food and is also your chance to experience ‘Trevs hospitality’. Make the most of your spring, mid-week evening and celebrate Taste It at Trevs @ Dickson.

The cost is $60 per person and the night kicks off at 6.45pm. Click Here to purchase tickets.
