Ever think that yoga is just for people who can turn and twist their body into a pretzel shape? Well think again…

Monica Anderson, director of Canberra Yoga Space, a new business that’s just opened it’s doors in Philip, says there are many types of yoga and for people of all fitness levels!

Canberra Yoga Space officially threw its doors open for business on Monday 17 March. It’s the capital’s first dedicated yoga studio offering the widest and most comprehensive choice of yoga styles available.

‘A common misconception about yoga relates to flexibility,’ says Monica, ‘Most people think of yoga as maneuvering their bodies into impossible positions. Yoga is not only for the fantastically flexible. If you’re not flexible you’re a perfect candidate.’

Canberra Yoga Space offers a comprehensive range to solve a problem. ‘Most people aren’t aware of different yoga styles or yoga schools and so often land in a local class that doesn’t suit their needs,’ says Monica. ‘We have fast-flowing and energetic styles and slow, gentle styles. To gain maximum benefit, you need to know what style suits you.’

‘Yoga is like having an energetic shower,’ says Monica. ‘All our teachers have the same philosophy, which is to revitalise you, bring you to your natural centre and improve your fitness, overall health and wellbeing.’
