Have a look in your wardrobe. Go on! What’s the one item of clothing you love? The one thing that is threadbare, worn out and not really suited to leaving the house?

Well, here’s your chance to show us this much-loved piece of clothing or accessory in an attempt to win yourself a whole new Spring Wardrobe from the Canberra Outlet Centre. It’s easy – all you need to do is the following:

1. Find a worn-out (but much-loved) item from your wardrobe.
2. Take a ‘selfie’ while wearing it.
3. Upload to the Canberra Outlet Centre Facebook Wall.
4. …and tell everyone why you love it!

The photo and story with the most ‘likes’ will take home 10 brand new outfits valued at a total of $3,000 coordinated just for you by their stylist. It’s the perfect way to go out with the old and in with the new.

We love this idea, but can’t enter ourselves, but here are descriptions of the most-loved items from the OIC crew.

Carly: My minkpink Singlet/Bodysuit
Why do I love it? It’s blue and white striped with a huge heart on the front. I got it when I was about 16 from like, the coolest shop ever, Smarty Pants. I love it because it surprisingly still looks good. A bit faded, but hey that’s fashionable now. Cheering!

I have worn it to many music festivals and lent it to my friends on multiple occasions. It could easily have its life in a 20-page photo book (with a memory underneath). I was thinking of getting rid of it, but then I packed it for my trip to Bali next week.

Melissa: My Prada patent flats
Why do I love them? I bought these in Italy as a treat to myself on an already indulgent holiday with a good friend. They were black and very beautiful however – as much as I loved and cared for them – once patent leather is ruined, it’s gone forever.

The Prada’s were my respectable travelling flats, I was gutted when I knew it was time to say my ‘good byes’ and leave them behind, however to give them new life, I cut off the buckles and made a pair of bracelets – one of which I gave to my niece.

Natasha: A print shift dress (I made myself)
Why do I love it? I love this dress because it’s still in style after four seasons. I made it myself using fabric I picked up on my travels overseas. I don’t want to throw it out because it’s the perfect dress to wear to the spring races, garden parties and weddings.

I have worn it many times over the years, so I am thinking of getting out the sewing machine and revamping it into a whole new dress – then I can continue wearing it for another 5 years!

Nic: Easy. My old Mambo Make Love Not War t-shirt.
Why do I love it? For its versatility. Since the 90s the t-shirt has been my best pub shirt, a pillowcase (and a pillow!) a pyjama top and now, given it is grey and has holes all over it, is purely for couch-slouching on a Sunday.

You’ve got until Sunday 31 August to get your entry in, so grab that old jumper/sandal/jacket and upload your photo and story now! The winner of this awesome prize will be announced on Wednesday 3 September!
