For those of you that know me, or know my hair for that matter, you’ll understand how damn hard it can be sometimes to style it correctly. Being blessed with super thick, long and unpredictable locks, it has always been important for me to be able to style my hair correctly.

So, it was only fitting that when the opportunity came to trial the new ghd V Coral Bird of Paradise Limited Edition Hair Styler – I jumped at the chance!

This limited edition ghd literally glides through your hair. As soon as I pulled it through my thick, and untamed hair, it was effortless, providing an ultimate and instant shine effect. Each smooth plate has a contoured gloss finish designed to not only style your hair, but give it a long lasting effect as well. The V Coral Bird of Paradise Hair Styler is designed with a cooler, lighter body, which is ideal for cool-to-touch handling, as well as a lighter weight and feel. An added bonus for those that forget to turn appliances off is the automatic turn off setting that will activate if the styler is left unattended for 30 minutes.

This practically perfect, and very pink (and orange!) styler also comes with a limited edition heat resistant bag, perfect for travelling, as well as protective plate guarding.

Keen to try this easy to use and equally stylish hair styler? Then check out my step-by-step tutorial below:

1. Prepare your hair with some Heat Protectant Spray. This will not only help cool your hair down once it’s in contact with the hot tongs, but it will also protect your hair from any damage. Also, always ensure that you give your hair a good brush before you straighten it, as this will make it much easier to style.

2. Section off parts of your hair to make it easier for styling. Depending on your hair type it might be easier to just keep your hair in a topknot above your head, or to use styling clips to section it off.

3. Now you’re ready to begin styling your hair! In order to achieve perfect straightening results, make sure that you take small sections of your hair at a time, so that the straightener can do its magic! I like to place the ghd at a slight angle, just to achieve a cleaner style. Gently glide the ghd down the sections of hair at least twice, just to ensure that each strand is perfectly straight.

4. Continue all the way around your head, ensuring that you cover every section of hair. Once you’re finished, ta-da! You have straight, smooth and silky hair.
