Linzie Ellis was born in Canberra in 1985. Linzie completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts majoring in Painting at the ANU School of Art in 2008. As part of her studies she spent three months in London, studying at the Slade School of Fine art.

Linzie has exhibited her work in several group exhibitions nationally and in December 2009 was announced the winner of the Prospect Portrait Prize in South Australia. Linzie was recently named a recipient of the Australian Council of the Arts, Artstart Grant.

The works of Linzie Ellis explore the process of painting through a variety of techniques and materials. They reflect the role of art in both her own life and the wider art community as she attempts to understand how a painting is viewed in contemporary art and art history.

This exhibition will open at 6pm, Friday 4 June and close on 19 June 2010.
