Bruce hot-spot Ellacure Restaurant is opening it's doors for customers on Saturdays and Sundays from 8.00am as of February 25th 2012.

The boys will be serving up cured trout benedict, grilled asparagus with poached eggs, parmesan and pancetta, coffee from Ona and stewed fruit smoothies.

Canberra born and bred DJ Rush is one of Australia’s most well-known DJs and is fast climbing the ranks of success. He even reveals a secret project he is working on.

28 year old Rush started DJing when he was 18 at parties, private functions and he was a huge fan of making mixed cassette tapes for his mates.

“I loved music. I was always up to date with all the music and people would come up to me for new music”.

The next step was to save up and buy his own turn tables. He did just that and realised that this was something he could turn into a career.

If only I didn’t have to go back to work I could have spent all afternoon sitting in the open and airy Glass House Café.

As we entered for lunch, smiles were thrown our way by several waiters on their way past with plates of food and we were greeted like long lost friends by the maître'd. Immediately shown our table, we were greeted by enthusiastic waiters, with plates of food in hand, he introduced himself and told us about the menu.

Three dishes were presented to us, one after the other, each dish chosen to complement the weather and time of day.

The Black Opal Stakes is Canberra's premiere race day, and this year it is linking up with the Canberra Cup to create the first ever Super Sunday event, to be held on March 11, 2012.

Canberra has never seen a race event like this! This year is not only host to an amazing array of races but also steps up the excitement with a huge amount of activity off the track as well. This year your ticket includes:

Hosted on the grounds of Parliament House, Australia Celebrates Live showcased performances from Katie Noonan and the Captains, Sneaky Sound System, Spiderbait, The Potbelleez and crowd favourite, rock legends INXS. The event was the perfect precursor to one of the most celebrated days in the country.

Alongside the all-star line-up was Geoffery Rush who accepted the Australian of the Year award. He thanked his Australian fans far and wide, his appreciation for the privilege clear.

Saturday January 21 saw some of RnB's hottest acts descend upon Canberra for Heatwave @ EPIC, and for the ultimate feast of RnB and Hip Hop, the menu was spot on!

Acts included D12, Obie Trice, Crazy Town, D’Opus and Roshambo, Koolism, Tech N9ne and Canberra's own DJ Rush.

To get the audience warmed up, talented Aussie DJ’s graced the stage; DJ Skae, Eitha Deon, Collossus, KP Records Big Dave, Grant Who? N2W Kitty B, Dlinkwnt and Bishop, and DJ Rush.

Even his name sounds magnificent, Clement Chauvin. He has worked with the likes of Gordon Ramsay, survived for a year on three hours sleep per night and has grown to love and call Canberra his home. I have only just sat down with him for the very first time, but already I can tell, the Head Chef at Sage restaurant has soul.

Canberra's very own Adam Ciaccia of Axis Hairdressing in the City has made it into the top three finalists for the Australian Hairdressing Fashion Awards (AHFA) NSW/ACT Hairdresser of the Year Award for 2012.

Adam, the nephew of Axis owner and mentor Gianni Ciaccia has come a long way since his days as being a ‘helper’ at the salon. "I started at Axis back in 1998 where I would answer the phones, run errands, that sort of thing" said Ciaccia.

"I was studying Book Keeping at CIT at the time and decided to abandon that path and become a hairdresser."

Seafood Thursdays at the George Harcourt Inn are definitely one of Canberra’s best-kept secrets. The seafood is advertised as fresh, and that is exactly what you get! The call to the Sydney fish market is made every Thursday morning and the produce is served up that night.

Stepping into the George Harcourt Inn is like stepping into a traditional English pub. The interior is quaint, as is the beer garden but the real beauty of the place is aptly described by owner Gill; “we are a pub and we don’t pretend to be anything else”.
