The popularity of Floriade just can’t be contained within the daytime anymore! This year for five nights only the stage is set for Floriade NightFest, a night time spectacular.

Floriade NightFest will feature floodlit flowerbeds, bustling night markets, local gourmet food, free regional wine tastings, and swinging live music. There’s outdoor film screenings, fun roving entertainers and a stylish NightFest Glow Bar under the stars.

Du Jour owner and executive chef Chris Ross is overwhelmed by the positive response the restaurant has experienced since opening only five months ago.

Located in the beautifully restored and stylish New Acton Pavilion, Du Jour provides a fresh and exciting mix of modern Australian cuisine with French and Asian influences in a colourful contemporary space.

Originally a pastry chef by trade, Chris is enjoying the experience of being a new restaurant owner in Canberra.

University of Canberra 40th Anniversary Reunion Dinner

Past and present staff and students from the University of Canberra are invited to return to the campus to reminisce and reconnect over a three-course meal, drinks and entertainment at the 40th Anniversary Reunion Dinner.

Guests will be greeted with pre-dinner drinks and a jazz trio, before entering an almost unrecognisable UC Refectory (which will be suitably dressed for the occasion)! There will be live entertainment throughout the evening, including a surprise performance to get you moving on the dance floor!

Sogni D'oro, Belconnen's new signature restaurant

Establishing a fine dining restaurant in Belconnen was never going to be an easy task for the owners of the new Sogni D’oro.

Located on the ground floor of the Waterside apartments in Belconnen, the restaurant with its Italian inspired menu has already provided another level of dining for the residents of the area.

Although the aim for the restaurant is service with an emphasis on fine dining, the lunchtime menu is a little more casual with an atmosphere that does not intimidate the customers.

Olims makes triple win at AHA Awards

The iconic Olims Hotel which has been entertaining Canberrans for over 80 years, made a triple win at the Australian Hotels Association awards held last month.

AHA General Manager Steven Fanner offered congratulations to all winners, but made particular note of Olims, being one of two most awarded venues.

“Olims has shown the value of refurbishing an existing venue by taking out not only the Best Redeveloped Venue award but also the Best Outdoor Entertainment Area and Best Sporting & Gaming Entertainment,” he said.

Chi-Koo Kids Director Sharon, a vibrant mother of two, certainly has been busy. Amidst the relocation of Chi-Koo Kids and a huge winter sale, Sharon has somehow found the time to design her very own children’s fashion label, Darlingheart.

Head chefs and brothers Grant and Spencer Kells have brought to Canberra their love for cooking, refined skills and exciting flair with the newly opened Flint Dining Room & Bar.

Located in the New Acton Pavilion behind the Diamant Hotel, the Kells’ restaurant combines top cuisine in a laid back atmosphere.

“Good food in a casual environment is the best way to put it,” said older brother Spencer Kells.
