Tastes of Two Regions is on this Sunday 28 August from 10am to 4pm, at Pialligo Estate. The event is a collaboration between King Valley and Rutherglen wine regions – two distinct destinations nestled side-by-side in Victoria’s High Country, just a four-hour drive from Canberra.

This is an opportunity to taste over 100 different wines alongside produce of the region, as well as talk with the winemakers to plan your next wine getaway. Exhibitors include: All Saints Estate, Anderson Winery, Buller Wines, Brown Brothers Milawa Vineyard, Campbells of Rutherglen, Pizzini Wines and Rutherglens Estates.

There will be a range of food and wine masterclasses to attend at the exhibition, giving locals the opportunity to get up close and personal with the producers of the Rutherglen and King Valley regions. Attendees can experience a decadent chocolate and wine matching class, learn the techniques of gnocchi making, taste test beautiful Portuguese wines, discover how a small durif can produce four distinct wine styles, and the ultimate prosecco masterclass that delves into the much-loved sparkling wine.

Winemakers will also be partnering with local Canberra restaurants over the weekend to showcase the exhibition at different events. These events invite locals to indulge in a unforgettable dining experience.

Events include, a Rutherglen muscat mixology cocktail experience and a meet and greet with Rutherglen’s winemakers at Monster Kitchen & Bar, a lunch outing with the King Valley winemakers at Aubergine Restaurant, a five-course dinner at the Boathouse by the Lake with Rutherglen’s winemakers, and an Italian styled dinner with the Pizzinis from Pizzini Wines at Provini.

The event offers a great variety of options from enjoying the award-winning wines, meeting fifth and sixth-generation winemakers, understanding the history behind the winemaking families, and exploring the taste of the countryside’s gourmet produce.

Tickets are $35 per person if pre-purchased or $40 at the door, which includes a Spiegelau tasting glass to keep. Due to the great response so far, the event is expected to sell out so make sure you hurry and purchase the tickets via the ticketing site.
