Many festivals have come through Canberra, bringing with them national and international talent, food, staff and equipment. But this time Canberrans will be celebrated as the Cream Festival unsurfaces only local talent.

Brought to you by Rockman & Rush, the festival will be held on Saturday 27 August at Westside Acton Park and aims to provide the very best local food, drink and, most of all, music.

A Local for Local Project is not just its tagline, it’s the mantra for the entire Cream Festival. The music line-up is made up of all home-grown musicians, supporting artwork has been designed by local artist Cohen, and food and beverages will all be made and served by local start-ups – alongside a partnership with Pact Beer and merchandise provided by Sacho’s Dirty Laundry.

The main focus of the festival is the live music, and the festival has a line-up that will not disappoint. Local music from both established and up-and-coming artists, as well as Canberra all-stars; The Aston Shuffle, Citizen Kay, Coda Conduct, and Slow Turismo, will keep audiences in great supply of bangers all festival long.

Also providing a launch pad for undiscovered local artists, the festival has launched the Cream Sound Off sound search. Currently three quarters through the submission process, the sound search aims to find the next ‘big thing’ to have their very own set at the festival.

The first three heats have already set a standard higher than expected with My Dad & I taking out heat one, Kirklandd taking out heat two and MONDECREEN winning heat three of the competition. Don’t miss heat four of the Cream Sound Off kicking off this weekend on Sunday 14 August, and stay tuned to find out who the lucky act coming out on top will be!

With ticket prices starting at just $20, this is the perfect opportunity to get behind our city’s amazing local talent, discover the next budding performers and sample some local treats provided by the onsite food vans.
